Pregnancy presents a powerful opportunity for prevention—and dental professionals play a critical role in protecting both maternal and infant oral health. This evidence-based continuing education course explores the connection between maternal oral health and infant oral development, equipping dental teams with the knowledge needed to support healthy outcomes from pregnancy through infancy.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of pregnancy-related oral health changes, how to identify potential complications, and how maternal oral conditions can influence an infant’s oral health and overall wellbeing. The course also addresses common misconceptions about dental care during pregnancy and provides practical guidance for delivering safe, effective care to expectant mothers.

Through clinical insights and current research, dental professionals will learn how to recognize key oral findings associated with pregnancy and promote preventive care strategies that support lifelong oral health for both mother and child.

  • Explain the role of oral hygiene during pregnancy and its impact on maternal health.
  • Identify common oral health conditions associated with pregnancy, including gingival and hormonal changes.
